Being a Coach member with SCTNZ

SCTNZ membership is open to all swimming coaches holding swimming coaching qualifications under the NZ Swimming Coaching Education structure.

Members are required to agree with the SCTNZ Code of Conduct and hold a current police check confirming suitability to work with children prior to the acceptance as a member of SCTNZ.

All Coaches are required to complete the Safeguard Children, Drugs Free Sport, and Good Sports online Sport NZ learning as part of obtaining and revalidating the SCTNZ / SNZ Swim Coaching licences.

Coaches with overseas qualifications who wish to join SCTNZ can apply to have their overseas qualifications verified. See the recognition of prior learning information below.

  • Use of SCTNZ logo as per ‘Endorsement policy’ - once permission is approved - contact exec@sctnz.com

  • Inclusion into other SCTNZ initiatives as they are confirmed

Recognition of Prior Learning

Swim Coaches and Teachers NZ Incorporated (SCTNZ) is committed to have all swim coaches hold recognised coaching accreditations.

SCTNZ accepts that other coaching education and qualification of a similar standard are available around the world, and for this reason SCTNZ has a process to recognize prior learning.
