Swimming tuition is a vital service delivered by Hamilton Pools – and we’re looking for a new leader to make a real splash with our team.

We are looking for someone who thrives on a challenge, is an experienced people manager, can deliver our Learn to Swim programme to a high standard, and meet the needs of our wide range of customers.

Reporting to the Learn to Swim Coordinator, you will be responsible for leading a team of Learn to Swim tutors and contributing to the training and overall ongoing professional development of our crew of tutors. You will also ensure customers are provided with a safe and enjoyable recreation environment as well as high-quality and effective service, and equipping our customers with the right information, services, access and support.

To be successful, you will need:

  • a current Learn to Swim qualification
  • a current Workplace First Aid Certificate
  • ability to teach Learn to Swim classes to all ages (babies – adults)
  • proven history working in swim schools
  • ability to work in a fast-paced industry 

The Hamilton Pools team is part of Hamilton City Council’s Community Services cluster, and is dedicated to providing affordable and accessible recreation and leisure opportunities that encourage participation and enhance the health and wellbeing of our community.

The recruiting range for this role starts at $20 - $22 per hour, and will be negotiated for the right candidate.
